The documentary “The Takeover” just got nominated for an Emmy in the category “Outstanding Short Documentary”.
The film which I’ve directed and filmed in Afghanistan, premiered at Sheffield DocFest where it won the award for best short film. I hope it can help bringing attention to the dire situation in Afghanistan. Following women over a year as the country changes to fit the Taliban’s ideology, the film moves through the women’s experience, protests and daily life in the cities and countryside. And we see how restrictions on basic freedoms are enforced.
